Accessibility Projects
I evaluated eTextbooks and university products for accessibility, according to the SkillsCommons Accessibility Checkpoints and WCAG 2.0. I also provided virtual training to incoming lab members at the Center for Usability in Design and Accessibility (CUDA).
eTextbook Evaluations
As part of my lab training, I evaluated eTextbooks from Cool4Ed using assistive and non-assistive technologies to ensure they were Section 508 compliant. The eTextbook formats I evaluated were PDF, HTML, ePUB.

CUDA provided training manuals for accessibility evaluations, which follow the SkillsCommons Accessibility Checkpoints.

Web Accessibility Evaluations
As part of the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI), CSULB undergoes a procurement compliance review (PCR) for Information & Communication Technology (ICT) products using Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). In other words, products that are to be purchased by CSULB must be evaluated for WCAG compliance.

I contributed to this initiative by evaluating various web-based products (e.g., ParkMobile, InnoSoft) according to WCAG 2.0. Tools used included, but were not limited to: WAVE, ANDI, JAWS, Lighthouse, Windows Resizer.
I also created and provided web accessibility training to incoming lab members of CUDA via Zoom for these evaluations.

Miscellaneous Accessibility Projects
Other projects I worked on were:
-
Writing alternative text for images in Human Factors courses' PowerPoint presentations.
-
Evaluating Human Factors courses' syllabi for accessibility.
